I
read my first article on success called "That Something"
in 1964 and became absorbed with it's message. For the next 45 years
I struggled to achieve its message only to find it is a message
opposite to the teachings of Christ. This at first was shocking
to me and it is opposite to what 99% of what everyone else teaches
about success.
Ask
yourself why is it one person seems to obtain wealth and power almost
over night while hundreds struggle just to survive?
Why
is it that hundreds read success books and few achieve their definition
of success?
Why
do many success books refer to hidden secrets of success?
One day a friend suggested
that I remove all my success books from my home and study the scriptures
and I would begin to understand success better. I was appalled
at his statement and somewhat offended. Eventually
I boxed up my success books and stored them in a back yard shed.
Not long after removing my success books while reading
the temptations of Christ I saw the answer to these questions that
I had missed in previous readings. I would never have had
this understanding come to me if I had not first spent so much effort
to unlock the hidden secrets of success.
Anyone who truly wants to follow Christ needs to
understand that success philosophies are wrapped in appealing packages
that appear to be good but are litterally wolves in sheeps clothing.
