Lyme Disease commonly misspelled as Lime or Lymes     disclaimer

"Dr. Paul Fink, past president of the American Psychiatric Association, has acknowledged that Lyme Disease can mimic every psychiatric disorder in the Diagnostic Symptoms Manual IV. This includes attention deficit disorder (ADD), antisocial personality, panic attacks, anorexia nervosa, autism and Ausperger’s syndrome etc. It might be prudent in any person suddenly found to have psychiatric symptoms to obtain a Q-RIBb blood test to exclude Lyme Disease." (1)

"Lyme Disease is now thought to be the fastest growing infectious disease in the world. There are believed to be at least 200,000 new cases each year in the U.S. and some experts think that as many as one in every 15 Americans is currently infected (20 million persons)" (1)

"Stealth Pathogens, has been able to recover live spirochetes of Bb from mosquitos, fleas, mites, semen, urine, blood, and spinal fluid. A factor contributing to making Bb so dangerous is that it can survive and spread without having a cell wall"

"Transmission of the disease has been clearly documented after bites by fleas, mites mosquitoes and ticks." (1) And my doctor says if I have not been in the NE I cannot have it.

Here are some important facts about Lyme Disease

  • Few doctors recognize or treat it.
    • Most think it is only in the North East
    • It is listed by many experts as the most prolific and serious vector born disease in the US and Canada
    • Even if you have never been in tick wilderness you can get it from your pets.
    • The US center for disease control shows it in almost every state.
  • It has the same symptoms as hypochondria
  • The standard medical diagnostic tests are as much as 50% unreliable.
    • Most doctors will not treat it without proof
    • Even after a positive test the next one may be negative
  • The standard medical treatment is antibiotics
    • Even if they work it usually does not last as the disease hides in cartilage and comes back later.
    • Antibiotics have serious side effects
    • When it comes back the standard response is stronger and higher doses of antibiotics
  • Some doctors say forget the tests and if you have the symptoms treat it.
  • Sea salt and vitamin "C" may work better with less problems than antibiotics

Due to problems with our health care, drug companies, and hypochondria theory, Lyme Disease is a very serious plague.  Not tomorrow but right now! Lyme disease is growing very fast yet few recognize it as doctors seldom diagnose it, and antibiotic treatments and lab tests are often ineffective.  Antibiotics are over prescribed, destroy the immune system and bacteria's are growing more resistant.  Ticks are becoming more infected and the disease is rapidly spreading throughout all of North America.  Deer, pets, rabbits, cows, and other animals spread the disease through contact to urine as well as host to infect more ticks. Chronic fatigue is fast becoming a national problem.  Depression is a national problem that most doctors refuse to recognize as anything other than the result of thoughts.

Beginning Signs: Lyme disease is caused by a bacterial organism that is transmitted to humans via the bite of an infected tick. Most people bitten by an infected tick develop a characteristic skin rash around the area of the bite. The rash may feel hot to the touch, and vary in size, shape, and color, but it will often have a "bull's eye" appearance (a red ring with a clear center).

Seven to 10 days following an infected tick's bite, the first stage of Lyme disease begins with flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, and joint pain.
Neurological complications most often occur in the second stage of Lyme disease, with numbness, pain, weakness, Bell's palsy (paralysis of the facial muscles), visual disturbances, and meningitis symptoms such as fever, stiff neck, and severe headache. Other problems, which may not appear until weeks, months, or years after a tick bite, include decreased concentration, irritability, memory and sleep disorders, and nerve damage in the arms and legs.

Symptoms may show up fast, with a bang, or very slowly and innocuously. There may be initial flu-like symptoms with fever, headache, nausea, jaw pain, light sensitivity, red eyes, muscle ache and stiff neck. Many write this off as a flu and because the nymph stage of the tick is so tiny many do not recall a tick bite. The classic rash may only occur or have been seen in as few as 30% of cases (many rashes in body hair and indiscrete areas go undetected). Treatment in this early stage is critical. If left untreated or treated insufficiently symptoms may creep into ones life over weeks, months or even years. They wax and wane and may even go into remission only to come out at a later date...even years later. With symptoms present, a negative lab result means very little as they are very unreliable.

Often Misdiagnosed as: Many Lyme patients were first diagnosed with other illnesses such as Juvenile Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Reactive Arthritis, Infectious Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, Raynaud's Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Interstitial Cystis, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Fifth Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, scleroderma, lupus, early ALS, early Alzheimers Disease, crohn's disease, ménières syndrome, reynaud's syndrome, sjogren's syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, prostatitis, psychiatric disorders (bipolar, depression, etc.), encephalitis, sleep disorders, thyroid disease and various other illnesses.

The one common thread with Lyme Disease is the number of systems affected (brain, central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory, musco-skeletal, etc.) and sometimes the hourly/daily/weekly/monthly changing of symptoms. No one will have all symptoms but if many are present serious consideration must be given by any physician to Lymes as the possible culprit

Lyme disease is endemic in the North East and Canada. The infection rate with Lyme in the tick population is exploding in North America and as the earth's temperature warms this trend is expected to continue. Symptoms may come and go in varying degrees with fluctuation from one symptom to another. There may be a period of what feels like remission only to be followed by another onset of symptoms.
The diagnosis:
  • By the Medical Profession:
    • There is a lyme lab test available ask for the lyme test. Note: there are some serious problems with this test and the average doctor.
      • The test is not always conclusive; a person with lymes can test negative several times then one day test positive and the symptoms not have changed.
      • Few Doctors accept Lyme disease as a valid problem.
    • The symptoms of lyme mimic what doctors are taught is hypochondria
    • If you live in an area that is not listed as high risk of lyme disease most doctors refuse to recognize it.
  • By symptoms:
    • Many reputable doctors who treat Lyme disease rely on the symptoms even if the lab test comes back negative.
  • The Treatment:
    • Antibiotic Therapy:
      • Few doctors will prescribe adequate dosage or length of time required
      • Intravenous antibiotics are required to kill the bacteria.
      • High doses of antibiotics kill the friendly antibiotics destroying the immune system which results in making the patient susceptible to many other diseases such as Candidia.
    • A natural therapy gaining respect is natural salt and vitamin "C"
